Anyone for tennis?

Tennis – the best lifelong sport you can play!

Tennis is an activity that can be played from the age of 5 to 85, and offers more health benefits and social, developmental and competitive opportunities than any other activity.  Playing tennis also provides excellent relaxation and relief from the stress of modern living.

Where to find us

We have started a new tennis club based at Cloughey Tennis Courts and Pavilion, Main Road Cloughey and serving the lower Ards Peninsula including Cloughey, Portaferry, Kircubbin, Portavogie and Ballyhalbert (all within a 10 minute drive time from the courts).  We have use of the refurbished and floodlit courts with an international standard polymeric surface.

Everybody is welcome to join and play

Tennis Club Membership is open to everyone who wants to join and play tennis – all ages, all abilities, all welcome!  You can use the enclosed membership application form to join the club (1 form per applicant – copy the form or contact us for additional copies)

Junior Coaching – Easter 2009

Junior coaching classes will start at Easter with a 3-day course on 7,8,9th April.  This course is open to everyone aged between 5 and 14, with reduced rates for Club members.  To apply for places on this course please use the enclosed form and return it with the course fee as soon as possible.  Class size will be limited and places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.   Our qualified tennis coach will use specialist mini-tennis equipment for beginners and younger children to enable them to progress to the next level of ability.

Club play sessions

Our regular group playing sessions for Club members are on Tues and Thurs evenings + Saturday Afternoons.  This is an excellent way to meet other players and enjoy some fun tennis.  Everyone who turns up will get a game.  We will also be organising regular morning sessions to allow parents the opportunity to play while their children are at school.

Membership Benefits

Club members will have access to the courts outside pavilion opening times and will be able to book courts and play without paying the normal court charges.  Regular coaching groups will help you improve your game and we will also have access to good value tennis equipment and clothing.
