Good news - Cloughey tennis courts to be refurbished and new club established!
Ards Council has confirmed that this scheme will be carried out in the Spring of 2008. It involves resurfacing the courts with the latest porous polymeric surface (as recommended by Tennis Ireland), and installing floodlighing to facilitate evening use throughout the year. CDCA and Cloughey Tennis Group welcomes this development and will now take steps to establish a Tennis Club in Cloughey, serving the whole lower Ards Peninsula. We envisage the catchment area for the tennis club will extend from Portaferry to Greyabbey and Ballywalter and including Kircubbin, Portavogie and Ballyhalbert. The nearest other modern tennis facilities are in Donaghadee and Comber.
If you or any members of your family might be interested in playing tennis or learning to play (we will be running courses for beginners junior and senior) please email to register your interest. You will then be kept informed about all tennis activities in Cloughey.
All welcome - all ages - all abilities - To register interest email Alistair Dunn at ha.dunn@btinternet.com or ring 42771080
