Strangford and Lecale Proposed AONB DoE Planning Service published new proposals on 3/9/09 to extend and rename the existing Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Strangford Lough and Lecale Coast. Only the Southern tip of Cloughey at Ardminnan is included but the designated area includes all of the coastline and much of the inland area on the Lower Peninsula. The CDCA has arranged an exhibition of the relevant documents and maps in Cloughey Pavilion, which is open to the public until this weekend between 10am and 4pm.
