2016 Spring Clean

Cloughey and District Community Association's summer programme started last Saturday with the 2016 Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful Big Spring Clean.

The litter lift was carried out on Cloughey beach, dunes and Warren grassland by an excellent turn out of the CDCA Beach Care Group and volunteers. They were supported on the day by Ards and North Down Councillor Kellie Armstrong accompanied by her daughter and husband Barry who represented the Coastguard, plus the Duke of Edinburgh .Award Scheme regular volunteers with all playing a full part in an extremely successful day. For the record, litter lifts had already taken place by the CDCA Beach Group during February/March 2016 on the full length of Cloughey Beach from Ringboy to Slanes Point.

The CDCA Beach Care Group also wish to acknowledge the continued assistance of the Ards and North Down  Council Operatives who remove the results of our labour in the yellow bin bags normally left for collection in the Warren Car Park.
